Advantages of LED Lighting

LED (Light Emitting Diode), as a new generation of lighting, is the newest and fastest-growing technology in the lighting industry. With exceedingly high energy efficiency, LED lights are the best substitute for conventional tungsten lamps and halogen lamps. They, with advantages such as long lifespan (25,000 hours), low power consumption (saving up to 85% power) and low maintenance cost, are widely used in various lighting applications.

High Efficiency

LED lights are characterized by high energy efficiency, and compared with tungsten lamps, they can save up to 85% power. As their power consumption is far lower than that of tungsten lamps, they cut down electricity bills. With longer lifespan, LED lights further improve energy efficiency. They last 25,000 hours, much longer than the average lifespan of tungsten lamps (1,000 hours). Their lifespan can reach up to 8 years.

High Cost-Performance

LED lights cut electricity bills since they can save 85% of power compared with tungsten lamps. In reality, if a 100W incandescent bulb is used for one year and the electric charge is 10 cents per KWHs, the electricity cost will be $29 every year (the light is on for 8 hours everyday). If a LED light which can save 85% of power is used instead, the electricity cost will be only $4 per year, namely, $25 will be saved every year.
Since LED lights have long lifespan, the labor and maintenance costs for replacing bulbs are reduced as well, especially for commercial applications in which many lights are used. Moreover, the air conditioning cost can be reduced as well if LED lights are used, since LED lights generate little heat, which is conducive to maintaining a cool indoor environment and reducing the use of air-conditioners.
In the long term, LED lights can reduce the total cost of lighting. Since LED lighting technology develops fast, product supply increases with each passing day and the prices of products are dropping greatly, LED lights have become an ideal substitute for tungsten lamps.

Eco-friendliness

Unlike conventional bulbs which contain a large amount of toxic pollutants (for example, mercury), LED products do not contain toxic chemicals or harmful gases.
From product design, manufacture, transportation, use to disposal, TDS LED products take eco-friendliness into consideration to cut down the carbon footprint from manufacture and household use and minimize the damage to the environment.
The materials and production processes for tungsten lamps will be reduced if LED products with longer lifespan are used, which is also conducive to a greener future. If the main energy sources used today are non-renewable, the energy sources on the Earth will probably be exhausted decades later. In addition, energy crisis will bring about another evil consequence, that is, the impending global warming. If LED products are used, it helps save energy and mitigate global warming.
